The Front Door

A home is seen from the curb by all who happen to walk or drive by. The curb appeal of a home convey's to the viewer how well the home is cared for and what to expect on the inside of the house. This is where the first impression is created and desirability is determined and this is why good curb appeal is an important element of a successful home staging project. When you hear about first impressions, we are talking curb appeal. Many factors can affect your home's curb appeal. I am a believer in the power of a great front door. Of course, there are many types, styles and varieties to choose from but a few have inspired me immensely and I would like to share them with you.

Your front door says a lot about your home and can create a lasting first impression. Remember to accessorize liberally but without cluttering. Using good hardware, fresh greenery, excellent paint color, a nice welcome mat, perfect lighting and last but not least, opulent molding around the door will make your home stand out and get attention. I love the use of transom windows to showcase front doors. Transoms allow extra light into the entryway and make the space on the exterior and interior appear taller thereby creating a grander appearance. Check out a few great transoms below

A front door makeover is a great way to spruce up your home in a short amount of time. Great weather calls for outdoor makeovers. Happy Decorating!

Until next time!
