The idea of renovating a room in your home for your children starts around the time you find out you are expecting your bundle of joy. Many blogs and entire publications exist to cater to the high level of interest in parents, particularly moms, to create a perfect nursery or child's room. For a while now, I have worked with clients who want my help coming up with an exciting concept for their kid's room and I love these projects. Working closely with kid's and parents to make their dreams come true is very exciting. There are fewer rules and more freedom to go where imagination takes us. Here are some points that I always keep in mind while designing or remodeling kid's rooms. Built-Ins - The Perfect Solution

Before you decide that you or your family have outgrown your present home, consider this. How did you arrive at that conclusion? Are you running out of space to perform your daily functions or do you feel the need for more floor space. The solution maybe as simple as adding built-ins to solve your problems. A well-planned and constructed built-in will create tons of extra square-footage, take stuff of your valuable floor space, utilize unused space to create new use for it and otherwise simply solve all space crisis in one fell swoop. The question is, are they really that incredible? My answer is, yes. They definitely offer the most inexpensive and efficient solution for space-challenged homes. Additionally, built-ins customize a property and make it more livable, catering to your very specific needs for a particular room or area. A Backyard Oasis

Most decorators will tell you that extending your living space to include your back yard can upscale your home and add value to your property. What better way to hang out and spend lazy summer days than on your own beautiful backyard patio or by the pool? There are many different functions you can set up your backyard to provide - for barbecuing and eating, sitting and lounging as well as recreation and activities. I love summer days, so, my backyard is set up to enjoy the sun and warm weather to the max. I love sun-drenched pergolas, stone patios and decks. But my personal favorites are wraparound  verandas   Since I grew up in a tropical climate in a country steeped in colonial influence,  verandas  hold a special spot in my heart.
