Mood boards are often used by interior designers and decorators to create the look and feel of a space to communicate their ideas effectively their team or clients. It is a great way to get a visual picture of a project before it starts. Any and all types of ideas, thoughts or grands schemes can be displayed through a mood board and I have created many over the years to show my clients what I have in mind for a project. From art and mirrors to elaborate arrangements of personal photos and collectibles, we find everything on the walls of a typical home. Nobody likes to stare at bare walls and very soon they become a place to show off our families, academic achievements, travels and important occasions. Often, they become cluttered and overcrowded, compromising the harmony and balance of a room.  So, how can you use your walls to display your prized possessions and keep them clutter-free? To achieve this you have to think balance. Blank space on walls is as important to achieve the right balance as art, mirrors, collections and other possessions. The purpose of an area rug is to create a distinct area within a room around which furniture is arranged to define a purpose such as a seating arrangement, a play area or sleeping quarters. Additionally, they offer comfort under our feet, warm or toes and add luxury to our living space. While it has a distinct function to fulfill, the role of an area rug in the overall decor scheme of a room is very important. Rugs can act as focal points and artistic expressions or just form a simple backdrop to support other dramatic elements in a room.  Rugs can be synthetic or natural. From an eco-friendly and sustainability point of view I am a big fan of area rugs made of natural plant fibers like sisal, jute, grass, cotton etc. The look is sophisticated and understated. As a decorator and Stager, I understand the importance of creating vignettes around a home to add charm and personality. Side tables, or end tables as they are sometimes called, are a perfect way to add this designer magazine-quality touch to a room. It is a small piece of furniture with great purpose. Apart from the fact that we need a side tables to put down our food, drinks, books and remotes, they allow us to create interesting and unique displays of our favorite items and beautiful belongings.  The right place to start is to pick the perfect side table.
