The Daybed
A daybed is a versatile piece of furniture that can be used in any room for seating by day and sleeping at night. With the increasing popularity of a home office, a day bed can create a dual purpose room by adding the possibility of using a home office as a spare bedroom if needed. From modern to contemporary, daybeds come in all styles and fit in to all types of decor. Doing double duty for seating or sleeping, the daybed represents casual comfort and relaxation. Some of my favorite daybeds are shown below.
Sleek and Modern
Rustic Charm
Using different materials and styles, daybeds can be made to blend with the rest of the room or stand out on it's own.
Leather & Wood
Mid-Century Style
An extremely functional piece of furniture, the daybed can also make a design statement and can be easily used to create a focal point. For selling homes a home office sounds appealing to half the buyers whereas a spare bedroom is more useful for the other half. Adding a daybed in a home office makes it a spare bedroom. Use a desk and a daybed and you will have both!
