A Backyard Oasis

Most decorators will tell you that extending your living space to include your back yard can upscale your home and add value to your property. What better way to hang out and spend lazy summer days than on your own beautiful backyard patio or by the pool? There are many different functions you can set up your backyard to provide - for barbecuing and eating, sitting and lounging as well as recreation and activities. I love summer days, so, my backyard is set up to enjoy the sun and warm weather to the max. I love sun-drenched pergolas, stone patios and decks. But my personal favorites are wraparound verandas  Since I grew up in a tropical climate in a country steeped in colonial influence, verandas hold a special spot in my heart. Let’s take a look at some inspiring backyard hang-outs.

Decorating is my favorite part of all design projects. As a designer of decorating products, I am very focused on selecting the right material for creating the look and feel of a space as well as keeping an eye on stopping at the right time and not going overboard with the bells and whistles. Apart from great landscaping and stylish furniture, a few decorative elements, in my opinion, bring ultimate luxury and romance to a gorgeous backyard oasis.

I love choices that are bold and statements that turn heads. But when it comes to decorating your own home you may want to think twice before going too risque with your choices.
